18th Annual Festival of Lights

Join thousands of Riversiders and visitors at Mission Inn Avenue and Orange Street in downtown Riverside on Friday, November 26, at  6:15 p.m. for the 18th Annual Riverside Festival of Lights Switch-on Ceremony.  This event is presented by Duane and Kelly Roberts, owners of The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa.  More than three and a half million twinkling lights and a spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky in Riverside on this special evening. 

It all begins with the flip of a switch Friday November 26th during the "Switch-On Ceremony" presented by Duane and Kelly Roberts, owners of the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa. Visit before Christmas Eve for photos with Santa Claus in Santa's Workshop and add your picture to 2010's Largest Holiday Card for U.S. Troops (Learn More). Glide under the stars at Main Street's outdoor ice rink among magical holiday decorations, live entertainment, diverse shopping and distinct dining. Or plan your trip around a thrilling show at the beautifully restored Fox Performing Arts Center. And don't forget the holiday excitement all across the city, including Riverside's easily accessible shopping centers, and musical events at Riverside's universities.

Unfortunately we didn't have a great turn-out at this past Thursday's evening meeting. We're looking to make some changes to days/times, if need be, in the coming year. We really want to be able to accommodate as many moms as possible.

Free Stroller Strides Pre Turkey Workout

Come join us for pre turkey workout and holiday boutique presented by Stroller Strides of West Riverside.

This will be a free class for all. So invite friends, moms, grandmas, etc. We will have fun raffle prizes to win during our stroller strides class.

Pony Play Date 11/11

Please join us for a Pony Play Date this Thursday, November 11th.

There will be fun learning activities for children of all ages. Children will learn how to approach, groom and properly tack a horse. We will explore horses' temperaments, body parts and care. There will be a worksheet for the older children. When the lesson is finished, all children will get to enjoy a pony ride!

Please remember, the horses and ponies are animals with minds of their own. The number one rule is Safety 1st! So, please have your children wear long pants (preferably jeans), boots (tennis shoes are ok, no sandals!) and clothes that are ok to get dirty (and they will!). Helmets will be provided. Please bring a snack to share.

Day Out With Thomas the Train

The Orange Empire Railway Museum will be hosting several upcoming events with Thomas the Train.

Stewardship

The November meetings are off to a great start! We had 6 awesome moms come out today with their little ones and it was a blast.

Our focus this month is on Stewardship. Stewardship is realizing that everything we have is a gift from God. We all need to take time to recognize and thank God for the girls He has given to us. God calls us to return a portion of our gifts- of our time, talent and treasure- to help do His work here on earth. We spent some time discussing how we as moms are called to be stewards.

• Called to be courageous
• Called to be mindful
• Called to be generous
• Called to be grateful
• Called to be organized
• Called to be aware

As moms we're so focused on our child(ren) and families, we often find it hard to fit in stewardship. Realizing there is more to giving than money, is the first step to being a good steward. We had a great discussion on how we can model and teach stewardship to our children at all ages.

A big thank you to those moms who were able to come out this morning. We hope you had a great time and we look forward to many more fun activities together!

November Meetings

Be sure to join us for our November meetings where we will focus on Stewardship. We also have a fun craft planned for the kiddos. There are a lot of upcoming events and activities for the holidays as well.
